Connor is...

HOME!!! After almost a month in the NICU he is finally home! We are so excited that our little family is all together. This last month has been a very emotional one and a bit of a blur, but we are just happy to move on. Kaden and Sadie were so excited to have him home. Sadie never leaves him alone and if she can't find him she goes around the house saying "where's my connor?". I wanted to give a run down of my wonderful last day at the hospital. What... you want a play by play? Ok if you insist-
Walking into the hospital for hopefully the last time for awhile...
Ringing the doorbell for the one millionth time...
Scrubbing in for the one millionth time...

Holding Connor with a hospital gown on for the last time...

Saying goodbye to our FAVORITE nurse Lindsay...

The WHOLE Jensen clan driving off into the sunset...

(and Heidi whose reflection is featured in our window!)

I want to thank all the people who brought us dinner, prayed for us, fasted for us, and my friends who were forced to listen to me cry on the phone just because they asked how I was doing! I feel so grateful and truly humbled by this experience. It has really taught me not to complain about the 3 in the morning feedings because at least he is home for me to wake up too!

Connor is Unremarkable!!!!

I never thought I would be happy to have my child be called unremarkable, but today I couldn't be happier. This morning Connor had a CT scan and everything came back looking normal. To be exact the doctor literally put "unremarkable" on the write up of the scan. On top of that good news Connor ate 28 cc's (which is almost an ounce) all by himself! He has never eaten that much on his own so I was very excited! They have him on 45 cc's every three hours so he has a ways to go, but we are just so excited to finally see some improvement. He did lose some weight again, which I don't understand, but he is really starting to get stronger. Thanks to everyone for all the prayers that are sent our way... we really feel them all! I'll keep you posted.

It's a Boy!

I know it has been forever since I have posted anything but it has just been so crazy and it always seems like something more important comes up. But having a baby takes top priority and I figured he deserves his own spot in blogging!
Connor Travis was born Oct. 11 and was quite a surprise since he was a little over 3 weeks early! My water broke (and when I say broke I mean gushed everywhere scaring the crap out of me and left me wondering why I was peeing myself) - after I realized I was not peeing I yelled "Travis Help me!" He ran in and was like "Get to the bathroom" but I didn't move and continued to watch as my carpet became soaking wet... mind you I was approximately 5 steps from being in the bathroom!
We went to the hospital and after they checked me in and started me on pitocin a 4 1/2 hours later I had him! He weighed 5 pounds 8 ounces and was just so tiny and adorable!
Problems came the next day when they noticed that his chest was a little concave in the middle. This raised serious concerns and we had to meet with a pediatric cardiologist. After MUCH prayer we got Connor's results back and his heart looks great! He has been losing weight and not eating and pretty much he just is really sleepy all the time... so he had to be transferred to the NICU. This has been one of the biggest things I have ever faced and it has been so hard to go through such worry and not be able to bring him home. He is still not really progressing but he is being taken such good care of that I feel at peace. We are not quite sure when he will be home but right now we are just praying he will get stronger and healthier.
I cannot explain how much Travis and I have been touched by the love of people who are willing to help at anytime. Kaden and Sadie pretty much have a second mom named Heidi Clarke and Grandma. So thanks to everyone for helping! Please keeps us in your prayers. Here are some pictures of the little guy...
He loves his binky with his dog attached!

We're Having A....

Actually I don't know! I decided not to find out but something funny happened. The tech doing our ultra sound told us to not look because she was taking a look downstairs. After a minute she told us it was ok to face the screen. Travis Looked up and said "Clear the screen" - she had written either male or female on the screen and Travis saw it. I didn't look in time, thank goodness, so Travis got his surprised ruined for him :( My parents have already begged him to tell, but I have sworn him to secrecy so don't bother trying! I have thought it might be a good idea to charge people like $10 and then he will tell them... I think we could make some decent money. So until this baby is due - we just won't know (or at least I won't)!

Better Late than Never!

Almost 6 years of marriage, 2 school major changes, 2 in-state moves, one broken collar bone, one crazy wife and 2 1/2 kids later Travis is garduating!!!  We are excited to be done with school and now have careers and two master's programs to look forward to!  We feel blessed, grateful, and anxious to begin this new chapter in our lives!  Here are some pics we took for his graduation announcements:

Sadie's Obsession

For some reason Sadie loves opening the refrigerator and staying in there.... We are not quite sure why although all reasons point to the fact that she is my daughter and therefore has the potential of being a little weird at times!

My Worst Nightmare

So for those of you who know me farely well, know that I am just a BIT compulsive about Sadie's hair. There really is not a day that I don't do her hair...it's just something I have to do! Well you probably know where this is going... Kaden and Sadie were being unusually quiet so I yelled "What are you guys doing?" Kaden very honestly replied "Cutting her [Sadie's] hair!". He had barricaded the door shut by pulling out the drawers so we couldn't get in until he closed all the drawers. When I came in I instantly felt like I had to throw up. Travis was taking pictures and laughing which did not make me happy. I know that some of you are thinking I am crazy and that every kid gets a bad haircut, but people, this was very tragic for me. This is what I came into:

I would be lying if I said that I started laughing and thought it was soooo funny, but rather I broke down crying. I didn't even take these pictures because I was so upset. You know that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you've lost your wallet...yes dramatic comparison, but true. Luckily Travis understands that I am psychotic and was very nice and patient. I had to lock Kaden in his room because I knew that if I killed him I would regret it later.... much later (just kidding, sort of). I took her immediately to Snip-its and the first thing they asked, "Has she always had shorter hair?" To my utter amazement and embarrassment I started tearing up again and explained that it was past her shoulders. They were nice enough not to laugh at me (or maybe they were just scared?!?). I also explained that this is hard for me because I take great care to do her hair everyday. The hair lady asked me if Sadie minded blow dryers and I said "Umm... I blow dry her hair with a round brush" and then she said "oh so you really do do her hair. I can see why you have such an emotional attachment." So twenty minutes, painted fingernails, and twenty-five dollars we left much more satisfied than when we arrived. I went immediately to Claire's and bought bow clips that would cover up the botched up side where he snipped her pony tail off. She now has an interesting layered look in the back.

After a very emotional day (please stop laughing) - here is the finished result. I think I might try flipping it out but we'll see :)
